Meet Abbie & Hear Her Story

I first learned about Ayurveda during my yoga teacher training in 2010 and began to study and practice the lifestyle habits of Ayurveda more fully in 2013 upon meeting my mentor, Cate Stillman. I read her book Body Thrive and subsequently began participating in her dynamic group courses.

After years of discouragement with both my physical and mental-emotional health, I was relieved and overjoyed to experience quick results by applying the habits of Ayurveda into my life. My results brought about a profound identity shift.

First of all, I went from carrying an underlying pessimistic view of life to truly becoming an optimist with a newfound connection to possibility and a growth mindset. This was a remarkable example to me of how the positive results of simple, daily habits could not only change how I felt physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, as well.

Secondly, my study and practice of Ayurveda have led to a beautifully unfolding relationship with a divine feminine energy. I experience this in many ways including ~ the joy of being in my body and in my own skin, a delight in being present on earth, and comforting guidance from a compassionate mother energy that is greater than myself. I believe that my personal experience is part of a collective reclaiming of the feminine to bring balance to our world.

Through the ups and downs of life, and especially through motherhood over the past seven years, Ayurveda has taught me how to deeply nurture myself and awaken to a thriving life of compassion, resilience, and heart’s purpose. I bow in gratitude to this path.

With so much self-healing and self-discovery through Ayurveda, I began to feel inspired to share with others what is serving me so well. I completed a thorough two-year coaching program to become certified as a Yoga Health Coach through the Worldwide Association of Yoga Health Coaches in 2022. This training gave me the skills necessary to teach others the self care habits from Ayurveda and to sit in the seat of coach/guide for others who are evolving their holistic wellness. It has been an honor thus far to take on the role of Holistic Health and Ayurvedic Habits Coach. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to live my purpose of supporting women and biologically female people on their wellness journeys.

In addition to my love of Ayurveda as an avenue for holistic self care, I have a growing passion for menstruality, the journey from first period, through the menstruating years, into menopause and beyond. I love sharing about menstrual and lunar cycles and guiding others to embrace their cyclical nature. I believe we are not linear beings, but rather our energies move in a cycle, like the seasons. Meeting ourselves where we are at in each phase, each season, is a healing and life-enhancing practice.

In March of 2024, I will begin a training to become a certified Menstruality Mentor. In the meantime, I am weaving in as much as I can about menstrual and lunar cycle awareness to my coaching services.

I know my work will continue to evolve and I believe menstruality mentorship will become an increasingly prominent aspect of my offerings.
